Coronavirus: schools to remain closed for foreseeable future - BBC News
The government has rejected suggestions that children could return to school in England in the next few weeks. The Education Secretary, Gavin Williamson, declined to give a date for them to reopen, saying the government's tests would need to be met before pupils could return to school as part of any easing of coronavirus restrictions.
Meanwhile ministers remains under intense pressure over shortages of protective clothing for health workers and especially the medical gowns used in hospital intensive care wards.
